- When Jack was diagnosed with Apraxia of speech, his parents were overwhelmed with the diagnosis and the many years of therapy that lay ahead. When he started working with his speech clinician, he had minimal intelligible words and could mostly only be understood by family. But in the past year, he has made so much progress. Jack has grown so much, both with his spoken language and his social progress.
- When Ella started therapy, she was also mostly unintelligible to most listeners. She began to shy away from saying what she really wanted because she was learning that she would not be understood. Thanks to therapy at the RiteCare Clinic, Ella has made incredible progress and her confidence has increased dramatically!
The Scottish Rite Foundation of Omaha underwrites all the speech therapy a child may need, whether four sessions or four hundred, provided without regard to a family's ability to pay. It is estimated that a child who receives speech therapy will save between $7-$10 in later remedial education or social services.
Please help children become lifelong learners through by supporting speech therapy through the 2019 WalkRite for RiteCare.
